Artisan and Crafts
In Buenos Aires, you will find arts and crafts from all over the
country, specially from the Pampas (knives, mate (vessels) and
bombillas (mouthpieces, to drink mate) in silver and alpaca, leather
and carved leather, fur coats and clothing.
Markets and Fairs
San Pedro Telmo Fair is the most popular, however, there are also very
interesting arts and crafts fairs on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays,
in Parque Lezama and Plaza Intendente Alvear. On Sundays, you can
visit the “Feria de las Artesanías y Tradiciones Populares Argentinas”
(Argentine Arts and Crafts and Traditions Fair) in Mataderos.
Other fairs: Mercado de las Luces, Parque Centenario, Pasaje
Caminito, Plaza Manuel Belgrano, Plaza Vuelta de Rocha and Plazoleta
Santa Fe.

How to shop tax free in
Argentina |
 As
a foreign visitor you are entitled to claim back the tax you pay on
your purchases when you take them home. This service is offered by
major retailers world-wide.
At the refund points you will find experienced staff during
the regular flights and cruises schedules.
Your Global Refund Cheque must be validated by Customs at
departure.
3 Easy steps to claiming your refund
a) In the Store
Shop where you see the
Global Refund TAX FREE SHOPPING sign (over 225.000 stores
worldwide) and simply ask for your refund cheque. You'll find a
highly trainded member of staff happy to help and advise you.
b) Through Customs
Show your
purchases, receipts and passport to customs officials and have your
Global Refund cheques stamped.
c) Collect your Refund
You have several choices: immediate cash at our nearby
Cash Refund Office, the direct crediting of a chosen credit card, a
bank cheque sent to a chosen address.
Important Information
- Your total purchases (VAT
included) in a store must exceed Pesos 70
- The VAT rate in our country is
21 %. Your refund amount is the VAT less an administration fee.
- Only national products are
elegible for refund. Imported products must be invoiced
separately.

Refund Options
No matter where you exit Argentina, you will always find a
Customer Office to stamp your Global Refund Cheques and be able to
claim your VAT refund :

are departing from any of the exit points indicated in

Requesting a
credit to your Credit Card, a bank cheque sent to your home
address, or a bank transfer to your bank account. Please
complete the information in the back of the Refund Cheque and
deposit it in one of our mailboxes, or mail it directly to our
office. Your will receive your refund in 5 weeks.
